Where do we begin? We had turkey, toast, and buckets of blueberries. We had cheesies, calamari, and chilli on the floor. The stories shared on the Mouth Piece stage for the Food Edition were downright delicious.
The evening began with a packed-house – standing room only thank you very much! – at Rino’s Kitchen & Ale House. Infused with some (questionable) joke-telling by me (!), the evening went stupendously!
With DJ Cam on the tables and some Suede Productions volunteers setting up gear, it’s clear that everyone who comes to a Mouth Piece is guaranteed a great time! The energy was high and exciting!
Our youngest audience member, Miss Sylvie, had fun listening to the stories and playing with the wipe board. Maybe one day she’ll take the mic and share a story too! (Like her brave mama Cheryl!)
We had 9 storytellers! I will say that again – 9 storytellers! Our goal of 10 is, I’m sure, going to be reached at the next event! You got this stortyellers! All you have to do is sign up and share. See how easy…
Jonathan Pinto, our Guest Storyteller, told us a funny yet poignant story about Thanksgiving, politics, and folding one’s family traditions into another family whose traditions are quite different!
Here are the amazing, brave and beautiful storytellers – each telling a true story that was heartfelt.
Once again, the storytellers were:
Michele, Greg, Cheryl, Jodi, Laurie, Ellie, Jan, Rebecca and Joe.
Our audience, vibrant and enthusiastic, filled out their judging ballots, and with the mathematical genius that is our volunteer Claire, the Master Mouth Piece was determined to be…
STORYTELLER JOE! This was Joe’s first time at Mouth Piece.
So glad he showed up and shared! Joe received a Master Mouth Piece gift package, and the bragging rights as Master Mouth Piece – The Food Edition.
That’s a wrap! (Pun intended!) Special thanks to our volunteers: Claire, Ken and Nick; DJ Cam; photographer Emma Truswell of Blush Photography; Rino Bortolin and the Rino’s Kitchen & Ale House staff; CBC Radio Windsor Morning, The Windsor Star, and our sponsor Suede Productions Inc.. Thank you to everyone who donated books to the Raise a Reader project.
And, of course, thank you to our audience who support our storytellers and this series that continues to gain energy. Thank you to the storytellers – regular folks with stories to share. That’s you. That’s me. That’s community.
